Apple’s media event was held in jam-packed Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. What a morning it was! As everybody expected Apple introduced two brand new stunning additions to the iPhone family. Apple unveiled iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus and demonstrated how impressive these devices are. Along with the iPhone, Apple has also launched new series of it’s wearable. Apple introduced the Apple watch series 2 with its improved performance and features in the event. The show doesn’t end there. Apple has also announced the wireless AirPods and some other software enhancements in the event. Let’s have a look over some of the most important announcements from the Apple September 7th media event.
Apple has started selling the Apple Watch late last year. The Apple watch has become the 2nd most valuable watch brands in such a short time span. That is the reason Apple has introduced the new hardware and capabilities to the Apple watch. The latest version of the Apple watch that apple calls ‘Apple watch series 2’ could be your perfect fitness partner. The Apple watch series 2 is backed with the lightning-fast dual-core processor and two times brighter display.
It has Built-in GPS that will let you leave your phone at home while you go for run or hike. The previous apple watch was splash proof; the Apple watch series 2 is water resistance up to 50 meters. That means it allows you to swim wearing the apple watch and accurately tracks your activity. It has the improved heart rate sensor and now have the comprehensive workout apps. It is now compatible with many third party apps and gives you the real-time app notifications.
Apple watch series 2 comes in the stunning white ceramic body especially for the athletes along with the standard aluminum and stainless steel body. Apple watch series 2 will start at $369 and just like the company does with iPhone and iPad Apple watch series 1 will be available at the reduced cost $269. You can preorder your Apple watch series 2 from September 9th and that you will get in late October this year. Apple watch series 2 will be powered by the watchOS 3. Existing watch users will be able to experience the watchOS 3 from September 13th.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the product whole world waiting for. And Apple has not let the fans down. The company has claimed the iPhone as the best iPhone ever. The new 4.7-inch iPhone 7 comes in all standard iPhone colors along with the brand new super glossy Jet Black and slightly ordinary Black color. This dust proof and splash proof device is powered by the most powerful A10 fusion chip. It is the most powerful chip ever used in the smartphones. That makes the device 2x faster than the iPhone 6 and improves at least two hours of battery life compared to the previous phone.
The notable change in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the non-clicky home button and the new 25% brighter display. The home button is the iconic feature of the iPhone design. The home button is still there but it is no longer mechanical button that you can actually press. The new iPhone home button will provide you the touch feedback with the Taptic Engine just like Apple’s new MacBook trackpads. New iPhones have the 25% brighter Retina HD display with 3D Touch and wider color gamut.
As everyone expected there is no 3.5mm audio jack in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple has replaced that with the Lighting standards. So, you won’t be able to plug in your favorite 3.5mm headphones to iPhone 7 unless you have the Lighting standard to 3.5mm converter that Apple is of course shipping in the box. iPhone 7 will have the stereo sound with the dual speakers on the device for the first time. The audio output will be 2x louder than the iPhone 6s. Both these devices will run on world’s best mobile OS that is iOS 10.
iPhone 7 Plus will have all the features of iPhone 7. Despite its larger 5.5-inch screen, iPhone 7 Plus will have two 12 megapixels rear camera that will work together to let you shoot stunning photographs from your iPhone. The entry-level storage capacity for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is 32 GB that upgrades till 128GB and 256GB. iPhone 7 will be available at the same price as iPhone 6s – $649 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available at $769. You can pre-register your phone from September 9th. The company will start shipping the new phones from September 16th.
The best improvement in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the camera enhancement. iPhone 7 has the 12MP rear camera with the optical image stabilization capabilities and Quad-LED True Tone flash. Wide color capture, f/1.8 aperture, and a six-element lens make the photos captured through iPhone 7 even more vibrant. Optical image stabilization gives you 3x longer exposure compared to iPhone 6s. Quad-LED True Tone flash has the four smart LED flash that is 50% brighter than the iPhone 6s. All these features give you excellent performance in low light. It lets you shoot 4K video, Slo-mo video, and Time-lapse videos. You will definitely love the selfies captured through the 7MP front-facing camera on iPhone 7.
The camera on the iPhone 7 plus is even more advance. iPhone 7 Plus have the two 12MP rear camera that works together to let you capture the depth of the photo. There is a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera on the backside of the iPhone 7 Plus. It offers you 2x Optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom without affecting the sharpness of the photo captured. New depth-of-field effect lets you keep the face sharp and blur the background. The front camera on iPhone 7 has also get updated to 7MP from 5MP in iPhone 6s Plus.
Apple has completely redesigned the Earpod to fit into your ears. And of course, it is wireless. Apple has named this gadget as AirPods that is wireless, effortless and magical. It can directly connect to your iPhone without needing to pair like you are used to doing with Bluetooth. You can seamlessly connect to new iPhone by following just one tap set up. It can work with all your apple devices whether it is iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac. AirPods are driven by the custom designed Apple W1 chip that lets you take your favorite personal assistance with you wherever you go. You can active the Siri just by double tapping on any of the AirPods and give the voice commands to Siri.
Apple AirPods comes with 24hr of battery life with charging case and offers up to 5hr of battery life on one charge. 15 minutes of the charging is equal to the 3 hours of battery life. AirPods will be available to users to buy from late October. It will cost users $159. The new wireless headphones from beats will also run on the same custom designed W1 chip. That will be out for sale during this fall. The cost of the beats wireless headphones will range from $149 to $299.
If you are iPad or MacBook fan and expecting some advancement for these devices, I feel sorry for you. You have to wait at least a year to get major advancement in the devices. This Apple’s event was solely focused on the mobile phone and wearable device.
