Google slowly rolling out Panda 4.2 algorithm update

Finally, an algorithm update for webmasters! Google has informed Search Engine Land that they have rolled out Google Panda 4.2 Update this weekend. It was most anticipated update by the community as Google’s Gary Illyes has said “Panda Refresh coming very soon!” earlier in June and then the update was delayed because of some technical reasons. It is finally here; webmasters have noticed ranking swift and traffic fluctuation for websites.

Google has last officially updated the Panda Algorithm (Google Panda 4.1) on 25th September 2014 that is almost 10 months ago from now. It is Google’s 28th official update in the core Google Panda Algorithm since it was announced on 24th February 2011. Google has said that Panda 4.2 rolls out is happening extremely slowly and it may take months to completely roll out. This is the reason why very few webmasters have noticed the changes yet. Google has also stated that it is a site-wide algorithm update, but some pages will not show the change immediately. This update is expected to impact 2-3% of total English search queries.

As we all know, Google Panda Algorithm is basically focused on the content quality of the web pages. This new algorithm change may open up the new opportunities for the websites which are already hit by previous updates and have put up sincere efforts to get recovered. At the same time, it also would be dangerous for the websites who is still violating the Google content quality guideline. We have to wait at least for a few weeks to see the exact effect of this algorithm refresh. But early reports show, webmasters recovering from the penalties.
