  • On admin area click ‘Appearance’ then ‘Themes’
  • On themes page go to ‘Add New’ on top
  • Click ‘Upload Theme’ on next screen
  • Choose the downloaded zip file
  • Click on ‘Install Now’

Installing a WordPress Theme using FTP

Take themes to next level with the advanced method that the true beginners will find a tad difficult to do. For this connect to the host via FTP and go to the path ‘/wp-content/themes/’; now upload the required theme folder there. Before the theme upload do unzip folders and once done go to the admin area, click Appearance then Themes. Find the uploaded theme and bring cursor there and click activate button.
