This is the reason why Google has introduced new program “No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA” to separate the spam bots from the human users. It makes the human verification process as easy as just one click. Instead of writing a destroyed text in the captcha box now users have to just check one box next to the statement “I’m not a robot.” to complete the human verification.
Google has used the advance risk assessment technique in the backend of the program. Vinay Shet, Product Manager of reCAPTCHA has written in the official blog post, “last year we developed an Advanced Risk Analysis backend for reCAPTCHA that actively considers a user’s entire engagement with the CAPTCHA—before, during, and after—to determine whether that user is a human. This enables us to rely less on typing distorted text and, in turn, offer a better experience for users.”
If the risk analysis engine can’t surely identify whether a user is a human or a robot than it will provide you the regular CAPTCHA box with the destroyed text in it. Implementation of this new API has made the CAPTCHA challenge easy for the Mobile users. You are asked to select all the related images with the given clues in this version of Mobile friendly CAPTCHA. Obviously it is easier to tap photos of cats or turkeys than to type a line of distorted text on your phone.
Snapchat, WordPress, Humble Bundle are some of the early adopters of this new CAPTCHA API. And they have observed a better surfing experience for users. According to Google more than 60% of the WordPress’s traffic and more than 80% of the Humble Bundle traffic have experienced the “No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA” in the last week. Most of the users have got the websites faster after implementing a new API of reCAPTCHA.
