Result At Glance
JCO runs cross-cultural training programmes across four continents, in four languages, for audiences in completely different time zones and needed a website that could handle all of that without making it feel complicated to the person looking for their next session. KrishaWeb delivered a ground-up rebuild that earned a 5-star client rating and an Annual Maintenance Contract.

How KrishaWeb Built a Multilingual & Multi-region Training Platform
Japan Consulting Office (JCO) has been helping Japanese and non-Japanese companies bridge the cultural gap in business since 2006. Headquartered in Brussels and operating across EMEA, the United States, Japan and Australia, JCO delivers cross-cultural communication training, leadership and management programmes, HR consulting and e-learning content.
JCO’s training calendar is genuinely global. On any given week there might be an English-language session for a EMEA audience, a Japanese-language programme for Japanese managers in overseas subsidiaries, a French-language course for Belgian corporate buyers and a US time zone session for American HR teams. Four audiences, four languages, four time zones — each expecting to find the session relevant to them without navigating through everything else.

The Challenge
JCO’s training business operates across multiple languages, regions and time zones in a way that most training websites never have to handle. The old website served none of these audiences well and put the burden of navigating a global programme calendar entirely on the visitor.
A Global Event Calendar
The old site presented all events in a single undifferentiated list. Visitors had to filter by language, time zone and region themselves. Event registration rates were running at approximately 8%, meaning 92 out of every 100 visitors to the events section did not register.
Four Languages
JCO operates in English, Japanese, French and German as genuinely distinct content strategies. The old site had no structural mechanism to support that. Content was effectively English-first with partial translations and the experience for Japanese, French and German visitors was visibly second-tier.
No Region-Based Logic
Every visitor saw the same global view regardless of where they were. A EMEA visitor and a Japan visitor saw identical events, pricing and language options. Visitors spent over four minutes on the events page before abandoning because the calendar was not designed around their location.
No UAT PA Website Performance
JCO has operated since 2006 and works with large multinationals across three continents. Their website, with an average load time of 5.2 seconds and a mobile PageSpeed score of 41, was not representing any of that to new prospects evaluating a training supplier.

Objectives
JCO gave KrishaWeb a clear brief and we translated it into specific measurable targets before writing a line of code.
- Build the full website from scratch on WordPress with a custom child theme architecture
- Implement full multilingual support for English, Japanese, French and German with independent content management per language
- Build a region-based event system that surfaces training sessions relevant to each visitor’s region, language and time zone
- Lift the event registration rate from 8% to above 15% through friction reduction in the event discovery and registration flow
- Achieve 80 or above on Google PageSpeed for both desktop and mobile through a clean performance-first build
- Deliver a platform the JCO team can manage independently for all content, event and language updates
Our Strategy
The strategic challenge was an information architecture problem with a multilingual, multi-region dimension that most WordPress builds never encounter. Getting the architecture right determined everything else that followed.
Region-First Information Architecture
We designed the site’s information architecture around regions before anything else. The first question a JCO visitor needs answered is whether there is a session for them in their language at a time that works — so the structure resolves region, language and time zone in the first moments of a visit.
Four Languages as Four Distinct Experiences
We built the multilingual architecture to support genuinely independent content management per language rather than translation fields sitting below an English master version. The JCO team can update the Japanese content without touching the English version and each language version speaks to its audience in the context and register they expect.
Custom Event System Built for Training
Generic WordPress event plugins handle a date, a time and a registration button. JCO’s events needed region, language, time zone display, multi-currency pricing, delivery format and capacity management — all navigable by region and language without manual curation by the JCO team for each visit.
Scalable Child Theme Architecture
We built on a custom child theme so JCO can receive WordPress core updates without breaking their customisations. Event page templates, region-specific layouts and language-specific content all live in the child theme — protected from upstream updates and extensible as new programme types or regions are added.

From a Single Undifferentiated Calendar to 163% More Event Registrations
Japan Consulting Office runs cross-cultural training programmes across four continents, in four languages, for audiences in completely different time zones. The old website made every visitor work out for themselves which session was relevant to them. The rebuilt platform does that work automatically, and the difference shows in every metric that matters.
Event registration rate improved from 8% to 21%, a 163% increase. For every 100 people who visited the events section before the rebuild, 8 registered. After the rebuild, 21 did. On the same traffic volume, that is more than two and a half times as many course bookings without spending an additional euro on acquisition. The improvement came from three things working together: faster load times that kept visitors on the page, region-based filtering that surfaced only the sessions relevant to each visitor’s location and language, and a registration flow that removed the steps that were causing people to give up before booking.
Average time to find a relevant event and complete a registration dropped from 4 minutes 20 seconds to 1 minute 15 seconds, a 71% reduction. The old site asked visitors to navigate a global undifferentiated calendar themselves. The new site does that work for them the moment they select their region. Average session duration increased from 56 seconds to 3 minutes 4 seconds and bounce rate dropped from 69% to 41%, reflecting visitors who found content genuinely relevant to them and stayed to explore it.
The JCO team manages all four language versions and all four regional configurations through the WordPress admin without developer support. JCO awarded KrishaWeb a 5-star satisfaction rating and followed the project delivery with an Annual Maintenance Contract.

Phase 1: UI/UX Design
- Conducted audience and journey analysis for all four primary user types: non-Japanese professionals, Japanese professionals in international environments, European corporate HR buyers and organisational learning and development decision-makers.
- Designed an information architecture placing region selection at the entry point, orienting every subsequent experience around location, language and time zone context.
- Created wireframes for all key page types including homepage, event calendar, individual event pages, service pages, team sections and registration flows.
- Produced high-fidelity visual designs aligned with JCO’s brand positioning as a premium international training consultancy, accommodating typographic differences between English, French, German and Japanese content.
Phase 2: Custom WordPress Development
- Built the full WordPress website from scratch on a custom child theme architecture for long-term maintainability and update safety.
- Developed a custom event management system using WordPress custom post types and taxonomies covering region, language, delivery format, time zone, multi-currency pricing and capacity management.
- Implemented region-based event filtering as a frontend feature — visitors select their region and the calendar automatically surfaces relevant sessions in their language and time zone.
- Built time zone-aware event display logic and multi-currency pricing display covering EUR, GBP, CHF, USD and JPY with region-contextual presentation.
Phase 3: Multilingual Architecture
- Implemented full 4-language support with independent content management per language — English, Japanese, French and German.
- Built language-specific URL structures and navigation to support SEO discoverability in each language market.
- Configured language-aware content relationships so region filtering and language selection work together — selecting EMEA and French surfaces French-language EMEA events only.
- Enabled the JCO team to manage all four language versions independently through the WordPress admin without developer involvement.
Phase 4: Performance and Quality Assurance
- Achieved 89 desktop and 85 mobile PageSpeed scores through a clean page-builder-free custom build with optimised asset loading.
- Cross-browser testing across Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile.
- Multilingual content rendering validation across all four languages and all device sizes.
- Event functionality testing across all regions, languages, time zone displays and registration flows with specific focus on the mobile event discovery to registration journey.
The Tech Behind JCO's Multilingual, Multi-Region Training Platform
The JCO platform was built on WordPress using a custom child theme architecture designed for long-term scalability, flexibility and maintainability. This approach allows the organization to safely apply WordPress core and parent theme updates without affecting any custom functionality or design elements. Instead of relying on a single-language setup with translation fields, the platform provides four fully independent language versions, giving the JCO team complete control over localized content, layouts and regional messaging. Every page template, event layout and language-specific configuration is managed within the child theme, allowing the internal team to make updates confidently without requiring ongoing developer support.
At the core of the platform is a bespoke event management system built specifically around JCO’s operational needs. Rather than using a standard WordPress events plugin, the custom solution supports region-based event listings, language-specific content, automatic time zone conversion, multi-currency pricing (EUR, GBP, CHF, USD and JPY), delivery formats and capacity management. The system enables the team to create an event only once while automatically displaying the correct information for users across multiple regions. Combined with a custom-built theme, optimized asset loading and a no-page-builder development approach, the website delivers a fast, high-performance experience, achieving 89 PageSpeed on desktop and 85 on mobile while maintaining a smooth content management workflow.

Valuable Feedback From Our Client
“We came to KrishaWeb with a platform problem that went deeper than most agencies were prepared to engage with properly. Four languages, four regions, time zones, multiple currencies, a training calendar that needed to show each visitor only what was relevant to them. They understood the complexity from the first conversation, designed an architecture that solved all of it and delivered a platform our team can actually run independently. The region-based event system has changed how our participants find and register for training in a way we could not have achieved with any off-the-shelf solution. We gave KrishaWeb five stars without hesitation and the Annual Maintenance Contract that followed reflects exactly how confident we are in the ongoing partnership.”

Key Takeaways
Region-based event discovery is the mechanism that determines whether the right person finds the right session.
Going from 8% to 21% event registration required no more traffic. It required showing each visitor only the events that were actually relevant to them. The architectural investment paid back on the first day the site went live.
Multilingual websites that treat language versions as independent audience experiences consistently outperform those that treat them as translations.
French and German visitors to JCO's site are reading content written for them in their register. That distinction is visible in the session duration and bounce rate data — visitors who find content genuinely addressed to them stay longer and engage more deeply.
A child theme architecture is the right long-term decision for a training organisation whose programme evolves constantly.
JCO adds new events, new programme types and potentially new language or region coverage regularly. A build that cannot be maintained and extended by the team without developer support for every change creates dependency rather than capability.
A 5-star rating and an AMC are the two metrics that matter most to any professional services firm.
The client was satisfied enough to commit to a continuing partnership, which means the delivered platform genuinely serves their business. That outcome — a client who moves from project engagement to ongoing partnership — is what separates a vendor relationship from a technology partnership.
