How KrishaWeb Built a Patent-Pending Jewelry Configurator
The Road I’ve Traveled, known as TRIT, is a US based luxury custom jewelry brand built around a deeply personal concept. Using their patent pending TouchDate Technique, TRIT creates handcrafted pieces where diamonds or raised dots are positioned to represent a specific month and day chosen by the customer. Every piece is a wearable memory. A wedding date, a child’s birthday, a moment that mattered.
The brand sells direct to consumers, targeting individuals and gift buyers who want jewelry with genuine personal meaning. When TRIT approached KrishaWeb, the brand existed, the product existed, the patent existed. The eCommerce platform did not. Every day without it was a day of zero revenue from a concept that was already ready to sell.

The Challenge
TRIT needed an eCommerce platform that had never been built before. No existing tool, plugin or out of the box configuration could handle what the product required. The configurator had to be invented from the ground up.
No eCommerce Platform Existed
At the start of the engagement TRIT had no website, no online store and no way for customers to discover or purchase the product.
A Configurator Built From Scratch
A customer selects a date and the platform must translate that into the precise diamond placement, generate the correct variant, load the matching image and calculate the accurate price across all options in real time.
Premium Experience Required
With an average order value between $250 and $300, customers buying a personalized handcrafted piece expect the purchase experience to match the quality of what they are buying.
Customer Should Never Know About the Complexity
Thousands of date and configuration combinations exist on the back end. The customer sees a clean four step process that feels like choosing jewelry rather than configuring a product.

Objectives
Before a single wireframe was drawn, we aligned on specific, measurable targets:
- Launch within 7 months — zero to live
- 100% variant accuracy from day one
- Checkout completion above 60% average
- Cart abandonment below 35%
- Mobile conversion above 1.8% benchmark
- 15%+ affiliate orders in 60 days
- Zero developer dependency for pricing
- Scalable Adobe Commerce architecture
Our Strategy
This was a greenfield build with no comparable reference, no plugin to extend and no margin for discovering fundamental design flaws halfway through a seven month timeline.
Deep Discovery
We spent the entire first month in research and design before writing a single line of application code, mapping every date combination and configuration variable before touching the architecture.
Adobe Commerce
After reviewing all platform options, Adobe Commerce was the only choice whose extensibility architecture could support the TouchDate variant logic natively rather than as a workaround.
Real-Time Visual Feedback
For a product this personal at this price point, seeing the exact piece being built in real time as each selection is made is what builds the confidence to complete the purchase.
Affiliate Program at Launch
We built the affiliate and referral program as a Phase 3 deliverable so it was live and active before the first customer arrived rather than added after launch.

From Zero to a Platform That Outperformed Industry Benchmarks
TRIT launched with no website, no eCommerce and a concept that had never been built before. Seven months later the platform was live and every key metric came in ahead of the industry average it was measured against.
- The checkout completion rate reached 68%, above the 60% eCommerce industry average, with cart abandonment coming in at just 24% compared to the 70% jewelry eCommerce benchmark.
- The mobile conversion rate hit 3.4%, nearly double the 1.8% jewelry industry average, driven by a configurator experience optimised for the way buyers actually shop on mobile.
- The affiliate and referral program generated 18% of all orders in its first 60 days because it was live from day one rather than added after launch.
- Average order value came in at approximately $285, reflecting a buying experience that kept customers focused on the meaning of the piece rather than the price.
- Variant accuracy was 100% across every date and configuration combination in the first 60 days — zero errors, zero manual corrections.

Phase 1 – UI/UX Research and Design
- Conducted structured discovery sessions to fully document the TouchDate logic and map every configuration variable including date, metal type, diamond type, jewelry style and size.
- Designed a four step configurator flow structured to reduce drop off at each decision point.
- Developed high fidelity wireframes and visual designs for the product pages, configurator interface and checkout flow aligned with TRIT’s premium brand.
Phase 2 – Front End Development
- Converted finalized designs into fully responsive front end components optimized for mobile and desktop.
- Built the interactive configurator UI with a step by step visual selection experience.
- Implemented real time product image updates so the displayed piece updates immediately with each customer selection.
- Optimized all configurator interactions for speed with key pages loading in under 2.5 seconds.
Phase 3 – Adobe Commerce & Custom Extensions
- Configured Adobe Commerce for TRIT’s product structure and built custom Magento modules for the TouchDate mapping logic with complete accuracy.
- Created an automated variant generation system handling thousands of combinations without manual effort.
- Built a real time image switching engine and a matrix based pricing system giving TRIT full admin control.
- Integrated secure payment processing, shipping fulfillment and the affiliate and referral program module at launch.
Phase 4 – Quality Assurance
- Verified 100% configurator accuracy across every date and configuration combination before launch.
- End to end tested all variant generation, pricing calculations and image switching.
- Completed full checkout and payment processing testing including edge cases and failure scenarios.
- Conducted cross browser and cross device testing with focused attention on mobile conversion flow.
- Performance tested all high traffic configurator pages before any customer accessed the live site.
Phase 5 – DevOps and Deployment
- A scalable cloud based environment was created for production.
- Performance was verified at the time of deployment before going live.
- A 72 hour monitoring period ran after launch to detect and resolve any issues in the live environment.
The Tech Behind TRIT's TouchDate Configurator
At the core of the TRIT platform sits a custom Adobe Commerce architecture and a bespoke Magento module built specifically to handle the TouchDate logic. Every date selection triggers a chain of automated processes — diamond placement mapping, variant generation, real-time image switching and matrix-based pricing — all running without any manual input from the team.
On the front end, a custom responsive UI gives buyers a clean four-step configuration experience. They select their date, choose their metal and diamond type, watch the piece update in real time, and check out through a Stripe-powered flow built for high-value purchases. The result is a platform where the back-end complexity is entirely invisible to the customer.

Valuable Feedback From Our Client
“We came to KrishaWeb with a concept that no platform could handle out of the box and a timeline that did not leave room for trial and error. They understood the complexity of the TouchDate configurator from the very first conversation and built something we genuinely did not think was possible in seven months. The platform launched clean, the configurator worked exactly as it needed to and the numbers have been strong from day one. We could not have asked for a better engineering partner for a build this specific.”

Project Timeline
Key Takeaways
Discovery is architecture.
The month one investment in understanding the date to diamond mapping completely was the reason the platform recorded zero variant errors in its first 60 days. Every hour spent understanding the TouchDate logic before writing code translated directly into higher configurator accuracy.
Platform choice is a conversion decision.
Adobe Commerce was selected because it could support the TouchDate configurator logic natively. The 68% checkout completion and 24% cart abandonment both reflect a platform architecture that handled the complexity without exposing it to the customer.
Real time visual feedback closes the sale.
For personalized products at premium price points, customers need to see exactly what they are buying as they build it. At 24% abandonment compared to a 70% industry average, the visual confidence built through the configurator flow was driving measurable conversions.
Affiliate programs launched at go-live outperform those added later.
TRIT's 18% affiliate driven order share in the first 60 days came from having the program live and active before the first customer arrived. Word of mouth is the natural marketing channel for emotionally resonant products and a structured program captures what would otherwise be invisible referral value.
For zero to launch builds, exceeding industry averages from day one is achievable.
TRIT did not need years of optimization to outperform the jewelry eCommerce average on mobile conversion. It needed a platform built to perform from the start.
