Result At Glance

Klatsch Mate opened as Ahmedabad’s first European cafe with almost nothing online behind it. No paid media, no optimised profile, no social presence worth mentioning. Six months of work across every channel produced a cafe that now sits at number one on Google Maps for its area, holds a 4.8-star rating across nearly 300 reviews and is already receiving traffic from ChatGPT and Gemini before most local competitors have thought about AI search at all.

How KrishaWeb Boosted Klatsch Mate's Local Success

Klatsch Mate is Ahmedabad’s first European-style cafe, located in Chandkheda. The menu runs to more than 160 dishes, including authentic Neapolitan pizza, handcrafted Italian pasta, Georgian khachapuri and Vienna-style coffees, alongside soups, salads and desserts. The concept brings the unhurried rhythm of a European corner cafe to a market that had not seen it before, positioning itself for brunch, casual dining and evening outings near Motera Stadium, Tapovan Circle and GTU.

A genuinely differentiated concept only works if people know it exists. Klatsch Mate needed to convert that differentiation into footfall, and that meant building a digital presence from close to zero.

Problem Definition

The Challenge

When Klatsch Mate came to KrishaWeb, the cafe had a strong concept and almost no digital infrastructure behind it.

Low Footfall

Despite a genuinely differentiated offering in a market with limited European-style dining options, walk-in traffic was inconsistent and far below what the concept warranted.

Limited Brand Awareness

Most of the cafe’s natural catchment area, including students near GTU and residents around Chandkheda and Motera, had no awareness that Klatsch Mate existed.

Low Online Visibility

The Google Business Profile was incomplete and unoptimised, making it difficult for nearby searchers to find basic information like hours, location and menu.

Poor Google Presence

Klatsch Mate was not ranking for the local, high-intent searches that drive restaurant discovery, queries like ‘cafe in Chandkheda’ or ‘European cafe near me.’

Low Social Media Reach and Engagement

Social channels existed but were not being used as a discovery or engagement tool, leaving a significant gap between the cafe’s actual experience and what potential customers could see online.

Limited Customer Engagement

There was no structured way for the cafe to build a returning audience or convert first-time visitors into repeat customers and advocates.

No Content Infrastructure

The cafe had no library of photos, videos or visual assets that matched what was actually on the plate. Great food that nobody can see online might as well not exist.

No Paid Media History or Data

Starting Google Ads from zero means no conversion data, no cost benchmarks and no shortcuts. The first weeks are expensive by nature, and that had to be planned for honestly.

Success Criteria

Objectives

  • Build brand awareness for a concept with no prior presence in the Ahmedabad market
  • Increase footfall through measurable, trackable digital channels
  • Establish Klatsch Mate as the top-rated, most visible cafe in its local search radius
  • Build a genuine social media following and engagement base from a standing start
  • Position the brand for visibility in AI-powered search experiences as that channel grows
Our Approach

Our Strategy

KrishaWeb built a connected strategy across local SEO, paid media, social media, AEO and GEO, and content production, treating these as one system rather than five separate workstreams.

Google Business Profile Foundation

GBP sits at the centre of local restaurant discovery, so it was treated as the highest-priority asset. Every category, attribute, photo and post was optimised and kept current, because an incomplete profile was the single biggest reason nearby searchers were not finding the cafe.

Footfall-Driven Paid Media

Google Ads campaigns were built specifically around the actions that drive a physical visit: directions requests, phone calls and table reservations, targeted within the cafe’s actual delivery and visit radius rather than a generic city-wide spread.

SEO for High-Intent Searches

Technical and on-page SEO work focused on the specific searches a hungry, nearby customer actually types, rather than broad brand terms with limited commercial intent.

AEO & GEO Optimization

Content and business information were structured for visibility inside AI-powered search experiences. This was a forward-looking bet at the time the work began, and the GA4 data below confirms it has already started paying off.

Content Built Around the Cafe Experience

Photography, video and reels were produced to show the ambience, the food and the customer experience as they genuinely are, rather than generic stock-style content that could belong to any cafe.

RESULTS

From an Incomplete Listing to the Top-Rated Cafe

Klatsch Mate had a concept Ahmedabad had not seen before and almost nothing online to show for it. A Google Business Profile that barely existed, no paid media, no structured social strategy and no presence in AI search. Six months of connected work across every channel changed all of that.

The clearest number is the one on Google Maps. Klatsch Mate now holds the number one position for “cafe in Chandkheda” with a 4.8-star rating across 297 reviews, ahead of competitors carrying far larger review volumes. GBP interactions scaled from near-zero in January 2026 to nearly 5,000 a month by May, direction requests hit roughly 3,800 a month, and website clicks from the profile climbed to around 300 a month over the same period. The AI search result is the one that is harder to manufacture: GA4 confirmed 19 sessions from chatgpt.com, 1 from gemini.google.com and 12 from a dedicated AI Assistant channel in a single 30-day window. That traffic exists because the AEO and GEO work was done before most local competitors had any presence in AI-generated answers at all.

Key Action Taken

Google Business Profile Management

Optimised and continuously managed the GBP profile: categories, attributes, photos, menu information and posts kept current and complete, removing the friction that was previously stopping nearby searchers from finding basic information about the cafe.

Targeted Google Ads Campaigns

Launched highly targeted Google Ads campaigns focused on increasing footfall, driving directions requests, phone calls and table reservations within the cafe’s specific target radius, rather than broad awareness spend with no clear path to a visit.

Comprehensive Local SEO Strategy

Implemented a full SEO programme to improve organic rankings, website visibility and local search presence for high-intent keywords that map directly to how a nearby customer actually searches.

AEO & GEO Optimisation

Optimised content and business information specifically to improve visibility in AI-powered search experiences, positioning Klatsch Mate to be surfaced and cited as these platforms become a larger share of how people discover places to eat.

Organic & Paid Social Strategy

Developed and executed a content strategy to build brand awareness, engagement and community growth through a combination of organic social media and paid promotion, rather than relying on one channel alone.

Photo, Video & Influencer Content

Produced high-quality photography, video, reels and promotional creative showcasing the cafe’s ambience, food and events, supported by influencer marketing to extend reach into audiences the cafe’s own channels could not reach alone.

INSIDE THE CAMPAIGN

The Thinking Behind Klatsch Mate's Digital Growth

The first decision was sequencing. Before any paid media went live, the Google Business Profile had to be complete, accurate and actively managed, because a Google Ads campaign sending traffic to a half-finished profile would have wasted budget driving potential customers to a listing that did not give them enough confidence to visit. GBP optimisation came first, SEO work ran alongside it, and paid media launched once the foundation was solid enough to convert the traffic it would generate. That order is less obvious than it sounds. Most agencies run everything at once and wonder why paid media underperforms.

The AEO and GEO work was built in from the start rather than added later, which is why it is already producing measurable results. Content and business information were structured for AI-powered search experiences during the same period as the traditional SEO and social work, not as a separate project after the fact. The GA4 data showing traffic from chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com arriving within the first six months reflects that sequencing decision. Klatsch Mate is visible in AI search ahead of competitors who have been operating far longer, because the optimisation happened while that ground was still open to claim.

Client Testimonial

Valuable Feedback From Our Client

“We knew the food and the experience were good. What we did not know was how to make people who had never heard of us find us, choose us and come back. KrishaWeb built that system from scratch. The Google profile went from barely existing to being the first thing people see when they search for a cafe in our area. The footfall change was noticeable within weeks of the campaigns going live. What surprised us most was the AI search piece — seeing Klatsch Mate showing up in ChatGPT results felt like something that should not be possible for a cafe that opened recently, but the numbers are right there in our analytics. The team communicated well throughout, never overpromised and delivered more than we expected.”

Lessons Learned

Key Takeaways

A complete, actively managed Google Business Profile is the single highest-leverage asset for a local hospitality business, evidenced by GBP interactions scaling from near zero to nearly 5,000 a month.

Footfall-focused paid media, rather than generic awareness campaigns, produces a direct, trackable line to direction requests and visits.

AEO and GEO are not theoretical. Klatsch Mate is already receiving verified, measurable traffic from ChatGPT and Gemini, ahead of most local competitors in this category.

Rating quality compounds. A 4.8-star average across nearly 300 reviews outperformed competitors with several times the review volume, confirming that consistency matters more than raw review count for local ranking.

A connected strategy across SEO, paid media, social and AI search performs better than any one channel run in isolation.
